Contest! Sparrow crew Oscar guess-who!

Bert, Nora and I had a tiny Oscar party in our tiny hotel room here in Vero. We dressed up as three of the nominees and feasted on pizza, wine and crispy M&Ms. It was unbelievably festive. I ran the Oscar pool and won, beating Bert by just a hair (he picked Munich for Best Picture just to be contrary--this is typical of him, and it will be his downfall). Nora went for broke with Brokeback and now... she's broke. She paid up right away, but Bert still owes me.

The contest goes like this: The first commentator to guess our identities (the name of the actor/actress and the film he/she appeared in) correctly will win a SPECIAL PRIZE. I don't know what it is yet, but Nora and I are going to the Kennedy Space Center today, so possibly a moon rock? Whatever it is, you can be sure that it will be special, and that you would be very excited if you were to win it. So guess away!

This is Sparrow, standing by.

I'm voting for the Beverly Hillbillies. Mostly because of Bert's unmistakeable Jethro quality. Nora has the Elly May defiance thing down perfectly..and Amy..I have to say you look like you're about to whip up a batch of possum pie and make everybody eat it.

Chris, you're very, very close, but I'm afraid your answers are incorrect. A clue: We are portraying performers who were in the best actor & best actress categories. And for those who don't know, that's Nora on the left, in the COWBOY hat; Bert in the middle, in the FETCHING SCARF; me on the right, in the bandanna, looking like I'm about to whip up a batch of possum pie....

This blog-reader finds your text and photos highly entertaining but cannot enter the contest because she has not seen any of the films this year. (I think Harry Potter was the only 2005 film I saw. Was that nominated for anything?)

OK...upon further consideration..and thanks to some generous hints from the quizmistress, I hereby revise my entry in this diabolically clever contest to...
L to R
Huffmann, Hoffman, Theron.
I wonder how much it costs to ship a moonrock to Niagara-on-the-Lake ?

Note to Chris: OK, you have two of the three right, but your Huffman is in the wrong place. No, Bert is not Tootsie. We can ship anything to Canada, unless of course someone else gets the answers right first...

Buona fortuna!
